Viscogel develops a unique medical chitosan enabling improved vaccines and drugs

Viscogel AB develops a novel medical chitosan – Viscosan^® - and a viscoelastic gel - ViscoGel^® - with unique properties enabling development of improved vaccines and drug delivery systems.

 

Viscosan^® is a new type of chitosan with a lower degree of deacetylation and a higher degree of purity than standard chitosan. Viscogel AB has developed a robust manufacturing process to produce this highly purified chitosan.

 

ViscoGel^® is a viscoelastic gel with unique properties enabling use in medical applications such as a vaccine adjuvant with enhanced characteristics or as a drug delivery system.  

 

Viscosan^® and ViscoGel^® are non-toxic and biodegradable.
